When i try to boot from usb (hdd), then its just simply load my default (10.6.8) system from the other HDD.ĭo i have to replace the boot.efi only on the usb, or i must in the hdd also where i already have the actual old system) Any idea, where i did wrong thanks. It will still do a fine job as my headless home OSX server Thanks a lot OP for posting the tip level 2 Original Poster 1 point 6 years ago Theres a guy with same setup as you and he switched from Chameleon method to this, just read a few last comments:) edit: Mac Minis are awesome headless machines, especially the first two gens because you can get them really cheap Continue this thread level 1 2 points 6 years ago Hi All. No sound output, no WiFi and sleep doesnt work - probably due to the generic graphics drivers. The mini installs and boots fine However, some components in the mini are no longer supported. This, very close to vanilla, solution works much, much better I cannot get it to work with the leaked 64-bit GMA950 kexts, but the generic Intel Built-in drivers thats used in its place is good enough. The main issue its got (apart from the sub-par graphics performance) is that I cannot boot it without a monitor connected. Original Poster 2 points 6 years ago Thanks for the gpu tip Dont forget, 10.9.2 replaces boot.efi file Continue this thread level 1 2 points 6 years ago edited 2 years ago deleted 0.1657 What is this level 2 1 point 6 years ago Did you have any luck Continue this thread level 1 2 points 6 years ago Thanks for the tip Ive been running an old mini (2006, mini1,1 flashed to 2,1) as a headless home server with the Chameleon method. So it booted into Mavericks fine with the MacPro 1,1 firmware and the stock Nvidia video card. I have a Mac Pro 1,1 that I upgraded to a 2x quad core Intel 5355 chipset. Why didnt they allow Mavericks on pre 2008 MacPro Towers I purchased my tower 1 month before the new model was released, which of course supports Mavericks, I was quite disappointed when I attempted my install.Ĭontinue this thread level 2 1 point 6 years ago Is the Mac Pro need to have the graphic card upgraded for this hack to work Continue this thread level 1 3 points 6 years ago Is this only for Mac Pros or is this available for older MacBooks as well level 2 4 points 6 years ago This, my blackbook would love some extra battery life. Theres been a way to install Mac OS Mavericks via Chameleon bootloader which would make your Mac Pro a hackintosh, but it required much more work. ![]() Good luck Source guide (be sure to check out the comments on the same thread for any issues) Copy paste: following those steps to make an install drive - replace boot.efi - boot.efi can be found at SystemLibrar圜oreServicesboot.efi and usrstandalonei386boot.efi insert your board-id into OSInstall.mpkg(please google it) insert your board-id into ist(please google it) reboot from the usb drive. ![]() The same guys are currently making MacPostFactor for Mavericks, but until its out, heres copypaste of a guide from Macrumors, together with links bellow It works great, im typing from my Mac Pro 1,1 (firmware hacked to 2,1 gen) running Mac OS 10.9 Mavericks Guide is bellow, my advice is that you MUST use guide bellow for creating Mavericks installation USB.ĭo not use automated Lion Disk Makers, it will not work (Lion disk maker is great, but it wont be good in this particular scenario). Then ML Post Factor came and enabled installation of Mac OS 10.8 on unsupported, legacy Intel Macs.
